Dust jacket has some damage to the top of the spine and wear on the extremities, and the front flap has been cut both top and bottom though the price ($2.50) remains. Color frontispiece, also used for the dust jacket illustration, many beautiful wood engravings, illustrated endpapers, and chapter headings by Ward. Signed by both McNeer and Ward on the half title page.Prince Bantam was the first of many collaborations between Ward as illustrator and McNeer as author. The couple, who had been married after graduating from Columbia in 1926, published this book the same year as Ward's first wordless novel, God's Man, the first work of it's kind published in the United States.
